Is it worth $10? Yes

This solid period piece drama looks at the first years of Queen Victoria’s (Emily Blunt) reign in mid-1800s England and her budding relationship with Prince Albert (Rupert Friend) of Belgium. Sort of in the way of their love is Lord Melbourne (Paul Bettany), who's very persuasive and genuinely helps Victoria run the country. Blunt (“The Devil Wears Prada”) proves she can really act in this ambitious turn as the queen; note in particular the scene in which Victoria gives Albert a hard time for trying to help her, with her reason being that if she fails as a queen it will be because of her mistakes only, not someone else's. This scene could've been silly and childish, but Blunt nicely allows us to understand Victoria's point of view without making her hateful and ridiculous. Also, kudos to the costume and production designers for making the era look authentic.
