Identity Thief - Universal Pictures
Oscar weekend was typically slow, according to Box Office Mojo, as Identity Thief took back the top spot with $14 million for a 17-day total of $93.6 million. The unfunny comedy has also already had a sequel green-lit, so we have that to not look forward to. Snitch opened in second with $13.2 million, and the unscreened-for-press “Escape from Planet Earth” landed in third with $10.7 million and a 10-day total of $34.8 million. The sappy Safe Haven took fourth with $10.5 million, and has grossed an estimated $47.9 million. Tumbling down to fifth was A Good Day to Die Hard with $10.2 million, and a $52 million gross so far. The weakest in quality of the series is still putting up numbers impressive enough (worldwide) to warrant a sixth film that Bruce Willis has been hinting at for a few weeks.

... If they put out good movies in Febrary more people would be attending theaters, but they hold them all for may-july and the fall. |
