You just don’t get it Mr. Hudak. Scott Pilgrim is a very specific genre-film specialized for a niche audience. If it were critically acclaimed by every Tom, Dick, and Harry that reviewed movies, it wouldn’t be very good. The fact that Roger Ebert didn’t even review Scott Pilgrim is a great sign of the film’s brilliance. Ebert at least gave The Human Centipede zero stars, and that movie is the Casablanca of fecal-based horror films....This film is tailor made for ADD gamers without epilepsy...I love videogames with a passion that’s only outweighed by movies (and women). I’m also exactly like Michael Cera in every conceivable way, except that he’s funny and has talent. Scott Pilgrim isn’t for intended to resonate with everyone, but it’s definitely intended to resonate with me.
Is it worth $10? Yes, but only if you’ve rotted your brain with videogames first. Besides, how can anybody dislike someone named “Pilgrim” when we’re this close to Thanksgiving?

... I loved Scott Pilgrim. Regarding the hate mail I have this one thing to say: Ebert didn't give The Human Centipede 0 stars, he didn't give it a star review. He said with movies like this it just is what it is. |
