Clash of the Titans -- Sam Worthington, Liam Neeson, Ralph Fiennes. Rated PG-13.
Perseus (Worthington) leads a group of warriors against giant scorpions, Medusa, the Kraken, Hades (Fiennes) and more in this tale of Man vs. Gods loosely based on Greek mythology. The story is flat, but you buy your ticket to see great visual effects and action, both of which the movie ably delivers. Rent It.
Repo Men -- Jude Law, Forest Whitaker, Liev Schreiber. Rated R.
In the future, lifelong frenemies Remy (Law) and Jake (Whitaker) repossess artificial organs from people who default on payments for them. But when Remy defaults on his artificial heart, it’s Jake who has to track him down. There are some interesting elements here, but the standard hunter-becomes-the hunted storyline grows tiresome, and then it finishes with a whimper. Skip It.
