Marc Webb ("(500) Days of Summer") is trying to become the next Christopher Nolan, in the sense that he's rebooting a franchise in a darker, more realistic tone. Tough though since one character has no powers, but a man (Batman), while the other does have superpowers (Spider-Man); not to mention ones DC & the other is MARVEL.
Nevertheless, this summer is gonna be BIG, and the return of Spidey is something I think a lot of MARVEL fans are really excited for, besides "The Avengers" release date. There are a lot of rumors circling around that Marvel Studios made some kind of secret deal to in a sense aquire back Spidey, so that he can be apart of the cinematic Avengers family. One really big rumor is that Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) has a quick cameo in "The Avengers", perhaps a meaningless plug for "The Amazing Spider-Man"? Or, has Marvel Studios found a way to bring back one of their most beloved superheroes home where he belongs?
Without further ado, here's the NEW full trailer for "The Amazing Spider-Man":
As you can tell by the trailer, the Lethal Lizard is most definitely the villain, or will he become an anti-hero near the end? Who knows.
BUT, one really interesting aspect about this movie is the subplot about Peter's parents, the disappearance, this all comes back to the possible future Avengers tie-in, in the comics Petes parents were apart of Nick Fury's S.H.I.E.L.D! Here's hoping to a great future for Spider-Man!
