Is it worth $10 Yes
Origin stories are all the rage these days, so it only makes sense that each and every major "X-Men" character get his/her own origin movie. The first of (as long as they're profitable) many is "X-Men Origins: Wolverine," starring hunky Hugh Jackman as the titular loner with unusually quick healing powers.
We see Logan/Wolverine bond with his brother Victor (Liev Schreiber), whom we know will soon become Sabretooth, join an elite military unit headed by General William Stryker (Danny Huston), lose his girlfriend Kayla Silverfox (Lynn Collins), vow revenge on Victor for killing her, etc. Most importantly, we see how Stryker dupes Logan into letting him put Adamantium steel into Logan's body, which allows him to become Wolverine.
Story-wise the film works as a prequel to the hugely successful "X-Men” trilogy, but it's also a bit too scattered and illogical for its own good. But that never hurts director Gavin Hood's ("Rendition") fun and impressive action sequences, all of which are beyond absurd and an absolute blast. And because the action and visual effects may, may be more important than the story, it warrants being worth $10. But just barely.
Did you know? Though a number of "X-Men Origins" stories are planned, it seems the Magneto story will come next.

... i have to say this is one of my favorite action movies. It shows a completely different side to wolverine and helps to explain alot of small details in the xmen movies. And not to mention how hot wolverine looked in this movie!!! |
